Meet Thelma! A kind, gentle soul who found herself at the shelter after being bred her entire life and then discarded of when she was too old to produce any more babies for the profits of her owners. Despite her cruel past, Thelma is extraordinarily kind, patient, loving and an overall joy to be around. She has been such a quiet, enjoyable house guest since being a part of TLC Animal Rescue. Thelma has integrated into her foster home wonderfully with both male and female pitties. She wags her tail at her foster siblings, sniffs, and then keeps to herself. She has had zero accidents in the house and is crate trained. Thelma would be a perfect dog for a beginner or a family with little to no dog experience. ** Note: Thelma currently has a large mass hanging from her abdomen that we have had a generous donator step up and offer to pay for the surgical removal of. We suspect this mass is due to being a late spay and just a fatty mammary gland tumor, but will see the vet on 11/29 for a pre surgical consultation and have more information on this matter soon. Please do not let this deter you from adopting Thelma! She is a total gem of a girl and we suspect this is just another small hurdle for her to overcome before finally landing the happily ever after she so desperately deserves! 

All animals adopted from us will be spayed or neutered, dewormed for parasites, current with vaccines for their age and microchipped. Dogs will have tested negative for heartworms and given monthly heartworm, flea & tick prevention. Cats will have tested negative for FELV OR FIV and given Revolution monthly

The general adoption process is as follows:

Once we receive your application, the TLC Animal Rescue Board of Directors will review it to see if the animal you are interested in may be compatible with your family.
Once your application has been screened, we will arrange a meet and greet with you and your family members (including pets) and the animal you are interested in.
During this time, one of our adoption coordinators will be contacting your references and your veterinarian to verify if your pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines.  If the meet and greet was successful, and any other potential adopters have been ruled out, we will schedule a home check and move ahead with the adoption.
